Costco can replace the TPMS sensors but will likely need to order the OEM units, I paid an extra $115 a wheel for them for just over $550 for all 5.

The spare tire is fine, it will not dry rot stored inside the car. I have factory spares in most of my cars and they have no issues since they have never been used or exposed to anything. I don't foresee ever using them but I did once on the older RX300.....

Before my wife and I were formally married etc she brought the 99 RX300 into the picture with the finest Chinese tires. One blew out on her when we were moving to an apartment (because of that's always when an issue happens) at 65mph so I decided to swap on the original spare due to the tow being 3 hours out.

It was smoother than the 10 month old "thunderer" tires.

400 miles into a 650 mile trip. Man, the road noise on big parts of I-10 is intense!! Even with new P7s. Eeek.

Crazy how different terrain can excite a tire.

Thats one of the big differences between the LS and an S Class, Lexus vehicles in general are not well isolated from road noise, the LS is better but still not. The S Class hides those pavement differences much better.

I can manage potholed roads in the northeast, but down here every inch of surface on a chip seal road is coarse and loud. Measured 74 dBA/94 dBC at 84 mph on one of these roads via the NIOSH app.

Gonna start looking for an S550/560 again, and some nearby chipseal for the test drives.

I know exactly the road surface you are talking about, awful. They did my street in it and one of the main roads coming out of my development to get to the highway, terrible. Luckily none of our highways have it...yet. I think with road surfaces like that no car is going to be super quiet

First time on this board, so forgive if I am submitting a question the incorrect way.

I have a 2010 LS460 (86k miles), I need to replace my tires and I am looking for any suggestions and/or recommendations. I'm seeing lots of Michelin recommendations on this board (ie; Michelin Pilot Sport 4S). Discount Tire is recommending Michelin Defender 2, along with Continental Control Contact Sport SRS+.

Additionally, it looks like my chrome wheels are starting to have some chrome peel; so if you have any recommendations on some nice looking wheels/tires combo, I am all ears. I am fan of the smooth ride with great handling. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

I think Michelin are as good as you'll get for a luxury vehicle like the LS. I've used Costco on all my vehicle tire purchases including my pervious Lexus GX and GS. Never an issue and they also have wheel packages, check their website. When they run a sale the prices are hard to beat plus they back everything they do 100%..

Michelin has the name recognition, but as someone who always used to buy Michelins, I wouldn't go back to them. They just don't have a great grand touring tire.

That they do not.....I ditched a near new set of MXM4 primacy tires on my 460 in under two weeks owning it since I hated the car with them on it. Absolute boat and had such a lazy response and no traction.

MXM4 isn't amazing, but the right tire for some specific jobs. My Tesla Model 3 had those, and they really were the best mix of efficient, comfortable, quiet, and decent performance (meh in wet) for that car.

Pilot Spot 4 and Cross Climate 2 are the best in their categories.
