245/30 and 285/25 will give you the same overall diameters. i don't see reason why you want to run larger diameter tires up front compared to the back

your second part of the question, honestly, it's the same as asking about wheels. a lot of people will say putting on larger wheels for what, it affects ride. and i can tell you, if ride quality is a concern, you should worry about the 22s way before you worry about lowering with the air suspension.

lowering the car, of course it's all preference. to me, i will never put larger wheels on a car unless the car is lowered. it just doesn't look right proportionally. lowering makes larger wheels look proper, and it gives the car a more aggressive stance.

another way to think about it. s63 is lowered from factory, does it look like a young sport car or a fine executive automobile? to me, easily the 2nd -- with the ability to overtake if necessary

So my plans are to rim it up first with 245/30 front and 285/25 rear... then to lower it with the air controller. WHEN WILL I NEED TO WORRY ABOUT "SHAVING AND ROLLING" THE FENDERS??????????

What actually consists of "rolling and shaving" the fenders. Can anyone explain the process? IF at all I even need to when placing 22 on the ride?

I had 22" rims and also ride controller installed. It had nothing but nightmares. I had my car lowered and the front tires wears immaturely in the front. My shop tried to adjust the tow to compensate the camber but no help. To make things worse one of my front tire popped on the freeway and that was a nightmare you dont want to know.

Now i have original 18" tires back on the car and is riding at stock height. Hope my 2 cents helps.

if you get the right offsets and tire sizes, you won't have rubbing unless you lower the car a lot.

for shaving and shaving, basically it's treatment to take away the fender lip (right at the edge of the fenders) to give you more clearance for wheels

I agree with Henry. Lots of people are getting really aggressive fitment, having more problems and giving modding a bad name.
I was next to a car the other day with aggressive offsets and the fender looked terrible with the constant rubbing. Nice car but raggeddy fenders. I don't understand that for the life of me.

The best way to enjoy nice wheels is to get more aggressive than stock but less than VIP offsets, appropriate tire specs and lower....not slam the car.

Young people see my car and I hear it constantly, "Go lower dude". Then I look at their piece of crap, slammed ride with ruined fenders...and I laugh it off.

Slightly OT, but your car looks great. The mods are tasteful and classy. I hear the same from folks (that I should go lower), but my 1GS is still a daily driver and it's enough of a pain with the body kit/front bumper and lip now. If I were to go lower, I wouldn't be able to get in or out of driveways.
