Smile OK is this a good deal or i got ripped off.

Well back in October, I went in the market to buy a used ls460. I came across this nice used blue/black Lexus with 23134 miles(2007). The asking price was 48,995. I did my research and found that the price was about alright. But, as I have bought at least 15 cars for family, I had a feeling that I could bring them lower. The negotiation went for 6 hours. So long story cut short, I paid about 41,000 without Tag, Tax and Title. It is fully loaded with 16 speaker system and all those bells and whistles(No Radar and Lane Assist). Is the price I paid, alright?

It has to be alright. The negotiations have been over with a long time ago. If it was from Lexus dealer, certified, then it sounds right. Just enjoy it now. No crying over spilled milk.

If it makes your feel any bettery, for CPO you probably did okay. If it is not, then you overpaid by $2,500.

Abe, HMP, if you love the car and you have it for at least a few years, what difference does it make if you didn't get the absolute best deal. Amortize $2000 over 5 years and its only $400. Heck, I spill that much in Jack Daniels on my lap every year!

Enjoy your cars!

I'd say that was a very good deal if it has all of the options. Wholesale would be about 45% of the original sticker, or roughly $40-$42k. Mileage is about normal for the age. Typically the exec package takes a hit on resale value, compared to it's original cost.

I would seriously consider adding the Lexus platinum extended warranty before your 4yr/50k runs out.

There are several good threads on here discussing Lexus extended warranties, and the dealers that offer the best prices. IIRC it's around $2K for the LS460, I think that extends to 7yr and 75k or maybe 100k miles.

I think you only get screwed when you don't like what you get. There will always be a person who got a better deal or a worse deal. Its circumstantial meaning how much a dealer is in with the car and features etc., to many to name. If you like what you get that's happiness, if you get what you want thats success! As long as you like what you get and are happy, it's a awesome deal!!! L.G.N.M
