Default Coilovers

I just recently bought some BC Racing coilovers for my 2007 LS460. Well the coilovers are made for a 00-07 LS430 but the seller which is a sponser on this board said they would work for my car. I'm just a little concerned and want to see if you guys have any feedback before I open the box and try to get them installed.

I noticed Megan makes a different set for the 2 cars so I am having a lot of doubts.

Thanks for your help

you know, if you ask me, if something is not designed specifically for the car, i wouldn't put them on.

back in the days of gs430 and sc430, those two cars are very very similar in terms of chassis. but tein has two setups for the two cars. someone got the setup for the gs430 and put on the sc430. yup, it fit, but it never drove right. he later on put on the one specifically for the sc430, the car drove a lot better.

if bc racing has a setup for the ls460, that's the one i will get for the car. the ls430 and ls460 are way too different

BC Racing doesn't make one for the LS460 according to their site. I sent them over an email so waiting to hear back but I have the same thought as you. Thanks for the response. I think I'd be more comfortable with the Megan's that I know were made for the car.

I'm about to pick up some megan's as well. I have the Tanabe NF210's now so if anybody would like to take them off my hands let me know.

Don't buy from a vendor who recommends putting a different part on a car just because it fits physically. They are looking for a quick buck and are using the 'it fits' excuse just because the coilover company doesn't have a suspension made for your particular car.

I hold low opinion on Megan coilovers, even if they were 'made' for the LS. A lot of companies just find a shock on the shelf and throw it all together. Not too many companies out there are like Stoptech where they do testings to make sure their brakes work perfectly for the car. Plus the shock dynos I've seen on Megan coilovers are generally (fill in the blank). If you just want coilovers and dont want to spend as much, they'll probably be good enough.

I guess BC Racing does make coilovers for the LS460. I was told they shipped the wrong ones and have the new set on the way by both BC Racing and the vendor. I really didn't want to get the Megan's but spending more than twice as much for the JIC's just seemed a little steep for what I'll be using this car for.

bc racing actually does make specific coilovers for the ls 460. Check their taiwan site for the specs and maybe you can order through a US distributor or even directly from Taiwan. I have them on my ls 430 and the are so good.
