Hi,

I'm new to CL. Looking forward to joining the Lexus family very soon. I'm very interested in the LS460. Just wondering if anyone has any inputs, thoughts that can possibly push me towards the final decision to settle for the car. The current lease on the BMW 328i is going to be up in July so I really need to start looking!

Right now, the LS460 is my top choice. However, I'm also looking at the BMW 750i and over the weekend, wife and I was looking at a Maserati Quattroporte.

I'm just confusing myself more and more and need some of you to help me make a good decision. I'm loving that super VIP look on the LS!!

I'm in the same boat as you. I think you're making an excellent choice as long as you LOVE the body style and interior. Spend more than 10 minutes driving it. See if they'll let you have it for a couple of hours. Most importantly, read through each and every thread on here going back 3 pages if you have the time! You'll be caught up on the problems with the car (not many, mostly just wind noise which can be fixed) and the pluses of the car.

What color are you leaning towards? Looking for a new one? The "Sport" is the one I'd go with if it was new. Go to Lexus.com for the luscious interior pics.

I turned in an '07 BMW 550i sport coming off lease and leased a '10 LS460 Sport. This is my third Lexus with side trips to Audi (terrible experience) and BMW in between. The LS doesn't drive like the 550i sport but with the Sport option package it is really pretty good in terms of holding the corners. The transmission shift points are also set more like the IS-F. I personally like the interior with the saddle and black combination but that is a matter of taste. I've had my car for 6 months now and have had no issues - although I think my car will be involved in the steering wheel recall. My experience over the years with Lexus service is that they are top notch and very customer oriented but that may be dealership dependent as I've read posts from dissatisfied owners as well.

I do miss the head up display option that I had on the 550i. Also, the sport seats in the LS Sport are pretty good but nowhere near as good as those on the 550i sport.

All in all I'm very happy with my LS and would recommend the Sport to anyone looking at the LS but wants better handling than the standard SWB car.
