CPO LS460 L - 07 vs 08
Hello -
I am going to replace my 05 LS430 with either a 07 or 08 CPO LS460 L - what are the pros and cons of each year? Anything that I should be on the look out for with the 07 model (being that it was its first year)
Thanks,
Mike

Regardless of the year you go for, test drive it to make sure you don't suffer later on from the windnoise problem.
And now you've got more to watch for: the valve springs issue. Check the VIN against the affected vehicles list released by Lexus a couple days ago. If you want to skip the recall, then skip the affected cars.
You also might want to sign up for My Lexus website and check the car's service history (if you didn't get a printout of the vehicle's history from the dealer). I guess it's good to know which TSIB's were done on the car and which ones weren't.
Congrats on the selection and good luck with the purchase.

As long as there's not a huge price premium, get the '08. These are fantastic cars, don't get me wrong, but it's true what they say about the first model year, even for a Lexus. A quick browse of the service bulletins shows a lot of small things that they fixed during the '07 model year, that are standard on '08's. To name a few - interior trim issues, the front-door glass on the short-wheelbase car, etc.
I don't mean to knock the '07's (I just got my '07 today, CPO'd like you), if there's a TSB for it then they'll fix it no problem, but it's a bit less hassle on your part to just get the '08 and the benefit of all the work they did to fix problems they found on the '07.
