2008 LS 460L music download on a levinson
Is there a way to download music from an iphone or other digital source all at once rather than putting in cd's? it's so painful to put CD's in the system and most of my music is digital at this point. Also, when I plug in my iphone via the dock and play it through the system, the audio quality is terrible, is this normal or perhaps something is wrong with my car? thanks in advance, great group!

I don't think it is possible to put digitally formatted music on the HDD. But if you are using AIFF (audio) formatted CDs now then you should consider putting your music on MP3 formatted CDs. You can get about 150 songs on an MP3 formatted CD and with six CD slots that is a lot of music and the quality is pretty good.

there is no other way except audio cd format, that's just how lexus did it. silly imho, that's why i never care about ripping cd to hdd
on the iphone, you are playing through aux, of course the quality is bad. you can get better integration like vaistech where it uses the ipod cable and much better quality. and you can control through radio as well

I read somewhere on this forum that you could copy all of your MP3 files to a cd after changing the files' extension to CDA (if I recall the audio cd files' extension correctly). This way you would be able to fool Lexus' system to think that you're trying to rip an audio cd.
Haven't tried it tho, so I can't be sure.
