Default 2007 LS 460 Brake popping sound

My 2007 LS 460 makes weird poping sound when I step on the brake.
It makes louder sound when car is put on reverse. Anyone have this problem??
I went to dealer for the check up and they said I need to change the brakes.
But told me I still have 5mm of brake pads left. If anyone knows what is wrong
please help~~

mine did make that noise around front dash board area or behind of the engine.

Dealer replaced whole brake pedal assembly but it didn't help.
I went back again to check them the brake pump or whole brake system but they couldn't find anything wrong.

now I just turn on the music to eliminate the noise... -_-

How many miles on the car? If the brake pads are worn, they can shift slightly when you apply the brakes and that often causes a popping sound.

Is noise gone after you change the actuator?
