Default WTF No more premium mats?

Since some carwash (don't know anymore which one) ruined the mats on my 460L I figured I would just order some new premium ones. So that is what I did last Saturday and just a moment ago a received a call that Lexus will not release them. They already did not have them in alabaster anymore (gets dirty too quickly I guess) but now they don't want to sell them at all, only the regular ones are still available.

What gives? What the heck is the problem with mats?

Yep, I had to pick up the car from Sewell (Dallas) after an oil change so I just went into the parts department. The regular mats were in stock but don't look that great so I ordered the premium ones. Still don't know what 'not releasing them' actually means, but I will investigate.

I will also try the link, see if that works.

Made an edit, my color is actually alabaster. I knew I should never have chosen something that light.

So I talked to another Sewell rep and he indicated that it had to do with the Toyota accelerator/break scare. I dunno, this sounds like a lame excuse to me, the LS460 has no history with that problem. The mats have retainer clips and the break pedal is hinged from the top.

Long story, The wife brought the car to the car wash a while ago and let them clean the mats as well. Now they are stained and it wont come off.

Yes, all the premium floor mats have been placed in a stop sale status. We cannot say with absolute certainty as to why the stop sale, but can only speculate as to the reason. Just let it be known if Lexus will be such a decision there's a good and valid reason.

We do have the SWB cashmere floor mats in stock and it would be our only set left. If you have an AWD or the LWB LS460, I'm afraid we do not have those available. http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...-2008-512.html

You're welcome to contact me directly should you have any questions or concerns regarding the floor mats.

Well I picked up my mats this morning, a special order from Sewell. I even got a discount for the hassle. Great service as usual, thank you Sewell.
