Default help on tires.....

I need to get new tires for 07 LS460

I think stock rims are 18x7.5
and stock tires are 235 50 R18

Can I put 245 50 R 18 on stock rim?
Is it safe when I do more than 120mph?

I just want little more grip....

I have Dunlops on my 07 at the moment and they are nice.. but I think if I was going to drop a new set on and get a bit more grip it would be the Yoko's

I used to have Goodyear (H rated, which can go 130 mph max) on my LS. They were very quiet and the traction was good.

I switched to Michelin (Y rated, unlimited speed). The're nice but not as quiet as the Goodyears were. However, the traction is much firmer and better. I was very surprised how quickly I became tolerant to the modest elevation in road noise.

I did around 130 mph on both sets. The Goodyears are quieter but give less confidence as they aren't as firm as the Michelins are.

Switching over to 245's should be no problem. The overall diameter will grow just a bit but not enough to worry about.

Thankz 3rotor. I'm going to order 245's

I have 225 and 245 (was 255 but downgraded 10mm to get a/s) on my IS and I like them a lot...cheap, good grip, smooth, A/S !!!

Discount tire's website does not work right now....-_-
Gripstone works....then I will have Hankook tires...

yea the Yokohama AVID ENVigor is a Z rated tire that gets really good reviews by folks all over. Plus I really like how it looks which is a plus, it has the streamlined sidewall like a Michelin
