Default Oil Dip Stick Orientation

Quick question for you all, but is the oil dip stick twisted near the end or should it be completely straight? Just checked it for the first time and I did not pay any attention to the orientation when I pulled it out. It was not an issue until I had some trouble putting it back in.

What direction should it be facing when reinserted?

I don't think it matters, just push it back in fully with a little bit of force. I believe the twist slightly widens the stick so it will fit the tube with a little bit of friction holding it in place. I have seen this in other vehicles. Perhaps someone else can confirm since I'm not entirely sure but... for what it's worth.
