See you guys on the road...
Congrats on the fresh ride. Now you need to work hard to catch up and earn the 1st place again .

If you don't mind, color combination? Options? Price?

my 2010 ls 460 is 1 year old (next weekend will be officially 1 year) - car has 4,990 miles. That's correct: four thousand nine hundred ninety miles.

2010 LS 460L, Starfire/Parchment, AVS, Luxury package, Mark Levinson, etc. Sticker $79,420, paid $67,828 (after 1,500 valve spring coupon). that's $2,069 below dealer invoice, according to KBB, so I'm pretty happy with the deal.

Trouble fee? Yes, although I've had the wind noise window replacement and the B-pillar fix. Also, some yahoo on I-5 decided he wanted to be in my lane the same time as me when the car was 2 1/2 months old. Replaced the bumper and a little body work around the driver's side rear wheel well, but can't tell anything ever happened unless the sun hits the paint just right...

I'm going this weekend to test drive the '11 460L w/AVS and may wind up with a new ride. Been thinking about it for a while, and now that Lexus sent me the $1,500 coupon with the valve spring notice, how can I say no?

PS. My LS430 had 110,000k when I replaced it with the 460, and that was just over 3 years old.
I drive Carmel Valley to Irvine apx 4 days a week. It's only 140 miles round trip. My 2006 LS430 now has 110,000 miles. I can't agree more on doing it in a lesser vehicle. When I started this commute 18 months ago I had a 2004 LS430 which I sold thinking I would get some cheap fuel efficient car to put the miles on, boy that was a mistake. I rented a Camry, Altima, Sonata and a Prius for a couple weeks each to see how they fared. Not well. I ended up buying my 2006 a couple months later and couldn't be happier with cruising in style.

As far as a luxo highway cruiser goes, how does the LS460 compare to the ls430?

Both the 430 & 460 are a BEAST on the hwy, IMO that is where they both shine! The 430 has that Caddy/Lincoln float or cushy with a very laid back feel, the 460 has an in between feel of a 430 & 7-Series. You can feel the road more, the engine is a lot more responsive, you can hear the V-8 growl when punched (passing a slow poke) and has that more fun to drive feel. I drive a little faster on the hwy in the 460 than I did with the 430, I love the way it just pulls anyway both cars are amazing for long commutes and travel.

Jay is off by a little.... My 07 LS460 has around 104,000 miles. Haven't brought it to the dealership for the recall thing because it still runs strong...

Still not too shabby...

Looks like I have all of you beat - I have 155k on my '07. The car has been an absolute pleasure. I can't imagine a better commuter vehicle. The only non-scheduled maintenance was for replacement of headlight bulb. I just had routine service this week and was told that the front suspension bushings are showing wear and will likely need replacement in another 20k miles or so. Parts run a few grand.

My only regrets are purchasing the extended waranty and the Lowenhart wheels, which have caused nothing but trouble.

I also run 89 octane exclusively.

Do you notice any difference running 89 octane?

The only difference I've noticed since switching 89 octane is the amount of cash in my checking account at the end of the month.

No downside at all.

I hereby relinquish my title to the Man from Minnesota. Even if I added in the 11k on my 3-month old '10 460L, he's still got me beat by 13k miles.

All hail the new King!
