Nope, won't work. I've carried jelly, chocolate frosted and Boston creme in the trunk, but I ended up eating them long before I got a flat.
Besides, the bolt pattern is different on the jelly than the stock LS wheel.

That could really help. By the way, do you recommend putting the seats back in if you have passengers? My feeling is that if it hurts mileage then they can sit on the carpet.

Yeah, fold the mirrors in too, they've gotta be creating a lot of drag...

I'd expect this question on a Prius forum, but Lexus? You bought the car but can't afford to drive it...what'd you do...steal it?

Well, the LS isnt on the lower end of the scale of the monthly payment spectrum so I guess every penny helps. My brother has an Escalade and one particular female told him that she wouldnt go out with him because she knew he was broke due to the payments on the truck. . I know he's not but it was just funny to hear her say that.

Wow this thread took a turn. I bet the OP regrets listing it! LOL
By the way, no one mentioned to go to the bathroom before starting a trip, that has to be worth a pound or two!

but tell me, since you list over 100k's worth of vehicles in your sig, how much gas are you looking to save?

maybe you should just trade it in and get a prius?

Possibly paying off the loan or leasing both vehicles?

The LS460 gets great gas mileage especially for its size and considering its a 4.6 Liter V8. If you want to maximize your Miles Per Gallon pump Premium Gasoline and try to keep your rpm's on the lower side.

Darryll40, in terms of the spare wouldn't you be in more trouble if you got a flat than if you saved a couple bucks on some gas? Its not a smart idea to ever take your spare out.

By the way no one mentioned it, but if you really wanted to save on gas you should've bought the LS460 RWD not AWD . You get 1 MPG more both city and highway all the time with RWD vs AWD which would save a lot more than removing the spare tire.

Does the LS even have a full size spare or is it a doughnut?

I would pee and poo before driving.

That way, the whole car is lighter...
