Default Has anyone used this AC / cabin filter?

Our AC filter sign keeps popping up on the dash so I was thinking of purhasing an AC filter off of eBay as its $100 at our dealership so I wanted to know if anyone has luck with this one or if its acceptable. Thanks in advance.

I use the TYC filters now, you can get them with or without carbon embedded in the material. I would say are as good as the OEM factory filters from my experience. I toss mine every 9 months to a year to keep them fresh and efficient.

I like that option. I think I'll pick up a couple myself as well.

Your dealer wanted 100 for the filter alone? Mines charged me 85 intalled. I know its not much better but every penny helps.

That's very strange. Just this last Saturday, I paid $170.00 for Oil Change and AC filter at my dealer.

Yes, I bought three front filters (match to part #87139-50060) too. Thanks for the link IStoSC!

Does anyone know what the part number is for the rear filter on a '07 LS 460L with that option. I know it differs in size from the front, since I pulled it out in the past expecting it to be the same as the front and it wasn't. I guess I could measure it if nobody knows the part number. Thanks in advance.

Hey KYLS, nice to see there's another Q45 afficionado here!

Do you ever visit the NICO site?

I seem to remember seeing "NoSpin" posts on the NicoClub site and suspected you might be the one and the same when I saw your posts here. I only hope my LS 460 is as reliable as my Q45 was. It has done well by me for more than 15 years and is still a very reliable vehicle ... soon to be my son's first car.

I received one of the three filters I ordered today from the eBay link, so this post may have run his supply low. I sent the seller a question on the rear filter after determining the following:

Dimensions: 10-3/4" x 10-1/4" x 1-1/4"
(same as Beck/Arnley part #042-2132)

Hopefully they carry the TYC version for a reasonable price. I'll post back with the details if they do.

Same filter is $12.00 from a different seller on ebay

You can also get it on Amazon for about $10.00 if you qualify for free shipping

Your $100.00 bill was probably for the engine air filter. You need two of them and they are about $50.00 each.

I checked the DIY thread but didn't see anything on changing the cabin filter(s). Can someone point me in the right direction? IIRC, it's tucked behind the glove box somewhere.

cheers

these guys are in San Diego, I got mine in a couple of days in So Cal, but I would guess 5-7 working days to get across the country to FL.

I have used them before with no issues, prompt shipping, I would think you would have received a shipping notice though by now?
