Exhaust Tips
I'm looking at either swapping out my stock exhaust tips for a new set that are CHROME, or just popping mine off and get them CHROMED.
Any ideas on replacements, or where I can get a stock set and just swap them out after having them Chromed out?

I'm wrong, or your wrong?
You can POLISH Aluminum and it will give you a bright appearance, but it will not be as vivid and eye catching as chrome will! If they were STAINLESS STEEL , then that would be another story, as stainless gives off a mirror image of chrome!
Aluminum looses it's shine with weather and also as you turn your car on in the morning, the heat that comes out of your exhaust in a fog presence already smears the shine that you have polished.
Believe me, I know! I own a 61 Impala and I can notice the difference in the polished side moldings and the chrome mirrors and other chrome items on the car. YOU CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BIG TIME!

Ha Ha! I wish it was that easy! But I can say this about Chrome Paint even though it's not my style! I went tp a Roadster show some time back in Santa Barbara, and there was a car that was done up by "Chip Foose" and the entire frame was sprayed with the Chrome Paint and damn, did it look clean!

the overwhelming majority of people would assume these wheels were chrome:
just polishing by hand isnt good enough, a lot of the time aluminum parts arent smooth enough to get that chrome look. the surface needs to be wetsanded properly to get the effect. i went through this doing a project on my s2000.
in any case, you can probably get another set of tips from lexus. i'm trying to see about a part number for you right now.

i've polished countless sets of wheels, quality aluminum polished correctly is pretty much indistinguishable chrome. there isnt a "big difference". i will give you the fact that it requires upkeep and chrome doesnt.

I'm going to my Lexus dealer tomorrow to ask how much and get a part number to do Internet research if they are pricey!
