Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I never really play CDs in my 08 LS460L but I noticed it fails to read title tracks for original CDs (not burned). Is this common? Is there a SW update I need? Thanks in advance!

Audio CDs don't have any information about artists, titles burned on the CDs. That information, when displayed, comes from a data base, CDDB, that is loaded into your car. It is also referred to as Gracenotes (that is the company that maintains the database). The information is obtained by generating a sort of data fingerprint for your CD (derived from the number of tracks, length of tracks etc) and looking for that fingerprint in the database. I think I am correct in believing that the Gracenotes updates are free from the dealer. It is possible that your CD is not in the Gracenote database. You can determine if it is in the data base by playing it on your PC. If you get the titles etc on your computer then it is in the database.
