Tire Pressure Warning

My tire pressure warning came on this morning for the first time.
I saw that 1 tire had a reading of 26 while the others were at 31. The one with 26 was at the top of the list so i assumed it was the front left tire. Went to a gas station and put some air in that tire. Well, it wasn't the front left tire that was low - noticed that the tire at the bottom of the list was now 38 and the top one was still 26. Checked the manual and could not find a layout of the tires, Put some air in the spare and saw that the one with the reading of 26 was now 32. Deleted some air from the left front and was on my way.
The reason i am relating this story is because i could not find which tire was which in any of the manuals.
Does anyone know the order that appears on the screen?

This issue was discussed before here, and I think it was concluded that there was no particular order for the listing. I recall a member compared his Lex with a M3 (or M5) he owns with regards to listing the tire pressure readings. I remember him saying BMW did a better job.
My spare's pressure reading appears most top as well.

It is the Infiniti. The new 2011 QX56 is even more advanced.

I have the 2008 Ls 460 and the sequence is as follows: The spare tire is at the top; No 2 & 3 represent passenger front and rear respectively; No 4 & 5 represent driver side front and rear respectively.
There seems to be no particular rhyme or reason. There is plenty of room for improvement here by Lexus. Just placing the numbers in the shape of wheels as they appear on the car would speak volumes!!!

From what I have read elsewhere I had the impression that the order is basically random based on how the sensors are loaded when they are synch'd up to the vehicle. The order you show may be right for you vehicle right now. But if the tires are rotated to the other side of the vehicle (as with some rotation patterns) then your order would no longer apply.

The sequence has remained the same since purchase. This includes rotation, and replacement of original tires.

1. It could be that you are right and most of the rest of us are wrong. I would not be too surprised. But for now I continue to believe that how the sensor IDs are loaded into the cars computer determine where they are displayed.
2. A possible explanation for your experience would be that when you purchased new tires the tire technician was careful and returned the wheels to their original positions. They do that sort of thing to avoid the labor of reloading the sensor IDs. For the Lexus it really doesn't make any difference since the the positions are not defined in the display. But because of the potential for liability they may be trained to follow that sort of technique.
3. As for your rotation experience there are several things to consider. One possibility would be that the tires were never rotated, very unlikely but it needs to be considered. Another possibility would be that the tire technician audited your tire sensor IDs before the rotation and reloaded them into the cars computer to maintain the relative display. Reasons for reloading the sensor IDs might be revenue generation or liability avoidance.
