I live in Nashville Tennessee, I called Lexus corporate and was told that there is an extended warranty for my 07 460 brakes actuator until December of this year. I am taking to Lexus of Cool springs This Friday. Will let you know the results.

The "warping" issue with many cars, including the LS, is typically not due to actual warping. It is due to uneven rotor wear from non uniformly tightened lug nuts. When lug nuts are improperly tightened, the hub and rotor slightly deform. This causes the brake pads to unevenly wear the rotor. The rotor then feels "warped" with a pulse in the pedal and vibration. Check out this link:

adding to this, when rotors are resurfaced, they are cut on a rotor lather (or on car). In either case, the tech MUST properly torque the rotor for the resurface. This often doesn't happen so the rotor is deformed when it is cut, leading to "warpage" due to wear in short order.

fwiw, just replaced front rotors to get rid of the pulse. The ones I took off have what appear to be very small grooves in the surface. This is with oem Akebono pads. Who knows!?

This is an old thread but this is what I’m feeling, the car rides flawlessly, on a scanner; there’s no ABS codes or errors. but like every one said in this post. It comes and goes and it really kills the beauty and driving pleasure on the LS. Should I buy an upgraded rotors and pads or surface the rotors first and see if that helps. Thanks for any replies in advance.

I put Akebono ACT1282 pads and Centric 120.44148 rotors on my 2013 front wheels. Besides working flawlessly, almost no brake dust. I always ask for a notation on work orders for lugs to be torqued in proper sequence and spec whenever the wheels come off. I use only shops that I have found to do diligent work. I never go to quickie type places for tire rotation, etc. Also very helpful to "break in" the new pads and rotors properly. Just google it.

Same experience here. I replaced the OE rotors and pads with Centric Premium Disc rotors and Posi-Quiet Ceramic pads. No more brake shaking or pulsing. The brake has been very responsive and ultra-smooth. I always torque the wheel lugs to 103 ft-lb in the sequence as specified by the service manual. I also re-torque the lugs to the factory specification after a tire shop replaced my tires or did a wheel alignment. I trust myself more than the tire shops. Additionally, I annually take off the pads and other brake components to clean and lubricate them as needed. And every two years, I faithfully replace/flush the brake fluid with Techstream per Lexus brake service procedure. Indeed, with Centric brake rotors and pads, my brake system has been working flawlessly.

Akebono pads and rotors should be available on Amazon and/or Rockauto.

I’m on my 3rd set of Power Stop Z23 ceramic pads on my ‘13 F sport. It had a TSB years ago regarding high pitch screeching when applying brakes. Dealer swapped out rotors and pads in accordance of TSB, BUT, it was still the same!
I’ve been enjoying low brake dust & near silent braking ever since…absolutely Zero complaints.

I am considering power stop kit for the car, is your setup includes rotors too. Are they drilled/slotted rotors. I wonder if they’re worth upgrading to or just go with OE specs rotors and pads. Before I do any of this, I will have one of the technicians at my work. Turn the rear rotors for me and see how that goes before spending money, i don’t need to be spending. The pulsation in both pedal and driver seat is very noticeable specially at highway speeds. When slow down I can barely feel any brake pulsing or malfunctioning.
I had the same rotors on my previous car for over 4 yrs before selling, and rotors were in perfect shape. They have wear indicators on the pointy tip of the cross drills, where as if the tips aren’t pointy, it’s time for new rotors.
I’m running cross drilled slotted only on the fronts. They had issues w/ rear rotors & kept sending me incorrect ones.
I literally can stop on a dime now!
