Default Dealership Help Needed....

I have a 2007 460L and just recently acquired it via the lease to buy option - it was my wife's company car for the past 3 years. On several occasions during the lease I brought the car in for most of the TSB issues (B-Pillar bubbling, brake squalk, dash tick, etc) the service manager would usually give me the run around about - “My tech didn’t hear the problem” or “I’m not sure what caused the leather to bubble”. Now that I’ve bought the car and recently found this site I see they have really been lying to me about my requests. To make matters worse I just rolled 50K. The car is going back to the dealership this week but they won’t give me straight answers about these TSB issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated??

Go to a different dealer. ANY authorized Lexus dealer (and some Toyota) will be able to get these TSB's done for you. If the dealer is claiming they don't exist, print off the TSB number and description and hand it to them. The dealer is an idiot if they are turning down work. They get paid by Lexus to do these TSB's! Its not like they are doing these for free. You should have pressed the dealer to complete the TSB's before you hit 50k, because as of now, they are not required to do them. You are out of the warranty period, thus Lexus no longer will pay the dealer to complete these. Since you did bring them up and the dealer said they didn't exist.....use that to your benefit. If they argue with you claiming you are out of the warranty, throw it back in their face and tell them that you gave them the opportunity to do it under warranty and they declined. Now they can eat the cost themselves.

Thanks for the feedback - Can I get a copy of the previous service requests? During the lease they went back to the owner of the company. I should be able to get a service history now that I own the car right? That would show my previous requests and visits before 50k.

You can get your service history online here -

You should be able to get the service history online, as posted above. They may not have noted your requests if the service writer was trying to avoid processing the claims.

I'm glad I was able to help. Hold them to doing everything that you requested while the car was under warranty.
