Now on eBay: The first Lexus LS 600hL sold in the USA

That's a good question. I also have a Launch Edition LS600hL and I was the first one delivered in Los Angeles. Looking at the pictures on the site it does seem to have a VIN# ending in 1150 (or so I can make out). Mine ends in 1398 so I'm not sure they did the VINs in sequence as that would be far more than 100 cars between those two numbers.

Usually when first production cars are built, they are not all built consecutively back to back (all 100 built back to back) There's a good chance that these cars were made in different batches between different world market specs. So for example, this car could have run down the production line, followed by a Euro spec or Canadian spec, different color, package, configuration and so on. Those are just some of the mysteries of the Toyota Production System (TPS). It's all calculated and worked out strategically.
