Default 2008 LS460L Price Negotiations

Hello all,

New member here and I'm in the process of trading for a CPO 2008 LS460L. I would appreciate thoughts on pricing as I will be negotiating further with the dealer tomorrow. Here are the specs:

32k miles
ML DVD Changer(MH)
Preferred Accessory Pkg(Z1)
Air Suspension w/19" Wheels
Advanced Parking Guidance System(PI)
Luxury Package(LL)
Intuitive Parking Assist(PA)

The dealer has it listed for $51900.. I offered $40k out of the gate and was ushered away.. I'm going to be doing further negotiations tomorrow and would appreciate any thoughts as to a respectable final price.

Thanks

Ed

Depends on how much your trade in is worth! Do you have equity in your current vehicle? Or are you under? Or just breaking even? The current listing is actually a great price IMHO, but I would love to have that car for a more reasonable offer, such as $47,500, with an extended warranty package of 125K miles, free satelite radio, and a full tank of petro as well as all the taxes and title fees! If the car hadn't had the VSR Recall done yet, then let them know you want to use the $1500 credit before purchasing it! Doubt they will allow it, but it's not gonna hurt to ask. (Not to mention the $500 gift card you should also receive for the hassle of the VSR!). Good luck!

I know the trade complicates things, however, I'm not discussing that until we work out a price for the car. I have the option of not trading and selling my car outright so I'm really focused on the cash value of the LS460L.

I do appreciate your input.. So to understand what you're saying.. You feel $47,500 inclusive of sales tax (TN = ~10%) or you feel $47500 plus tax is a good deal?

Thanks,

Ed

Dealers are gonna mark up about $3K-5K in order to have room to negotiate down. If the car only has 32K miles, it's still new and hasn't even been broke in yet. I would indicate your MAX is $47,500 out the door with tax title and Licence. Let them know you are a serious buyer and if they want to move it off the floor, then they will counter offer with their final price out the door is in their regards. If they are a selling Lexus dealer, it might fly debating on how eager the salesperson is! He wants to make money too! If you price a few out that are close to the one they are listing so you can let them know you know your pricing and your product!

I think 40k is wishful thinking. This a 2008 460L with low miles. Its going to cost at least 45-46K

Agreed. Mine is a 2007 SWB fully loaded and I **might** put it for sale for $42-43k - it has 27,0xx miles.

Wow, when I bought mine new.

I have a 2008 LS460LWB loaded full spec every option car with 14,000 miles, sticker was like $88,235.00 plus I added the factory OEM chrome wheels.

I would hope the prices were substantially higher that 40's.

Options such as RIDE HEIGHT or PARKING ASSISTANCE will make a difference! Especially if you have the EXECUTIVE PACKAGE in the back!
