My LS460 Vossen wheel transformation
#32
Car looks awesome....just one quick word on the tire "Wear Rating." That rating is compared to other tires within the same brand, so a Michelin with a wear rating of 500, will not (necessarily) last twice as long as a Continental with a 250 wear rating.
Not that big of a deal, but just thought I'd point that out

I love they way they look and the fitment is solid ( more aggressive than the fitment of the TSWs on my GS350). I know a member from the middle east sold his to get the Wald Portofinos and he had some complaints abaout fine scratches on the lip. I noticed the same thing but its extremely minor. The have to admit that Vossen does offer the best warranty in the market that I know of.....at least for cast wheels
I used to feel the same when I was driving my dropped GS350, but when you ride around for a couple of months without having to worry about cracks, dips, or speed bumps its amazing. The tires lasting longer than 9 to 11 months is also got me excited. I am now 35 and have a little girl so I am going traditional . Plus the LS460s ride is soooo damn nice it would take a lot to drop it. Whith my lowered cars I always had to think about the tire wear in the back of my mind and it was annoying to have to get new tires so frequently. It wasnt even the $1000 to $1200 on tires every 9 months, what really bothered me was the fact that the tires never get balanced correctly on the first time. The return visits are so annoying. I get sick of the shop and they get sick of me. I think the issue is the fact that when you live in a city like Phoenix some of the best roads in the USA you feel any imbalance in the tires because the roads are so smooth. n a place like LA the roads are so ****ty that you cant feel the tire vibration because the vibration from the road drowns out the tire vibration.
I did have the car fully loaded a couple of times and had to get gas . As soon as I got out I was in awe at how nice the car looks dropped. The rears were flush and the front had a finger and a half gap. I took some pics because I love the way it looked. The issue is if I hypothetically dropped it what happens when I load the car up with people. The car will ride like *** and look a little ghetto. The guys with the LS who drop their cars are by far owners of the LS460L. They have the added advantage of the air suspension and getting the module. They have excellent ride quality and they can also raise and lower the car. So for them its soooooo much easier.

They are less common plus with a baby I need the middle section to seat her. I want her in the middle in case if side impact or T bone ( God forbid)

Wow, I've been off CL for some time and just noticed your nice upgrade, congrats car is looking sweet Going to miss the detailed pics off your GS especially after zaino... Also I agree with your logic of not dropping the LS, even a slight drop will take away from the comfort ride the LS has.
How are you liking the LS btw? I was thinking of trading in my GS sometime this summer and starting to get sick of all the recalls and little bs issues.
