A/c filter
The light to change the a/c filter came on The book said to put the a/c in recirculate turn off the engine and pull out the shelf it only came out a 1/4" on one side and won't budge either way. Can anyone help?

you can try and use your fingers to press down at the point of contact, there are small catches that help to hold the shelf in place, you may also want to try and push it back to center and then push it a bit back and then up to release the catch. There are two designs is yours parallel with the ground or is the shelf a bit slanted backwards?

ok then (as I recall) take your thumb and index finger and grab the base of the center post and pull it up, you may have to push it back a tad and then up to release it, its pretty durable stuff and it can be in there snug so you will need to use some force to get it out if its never been removed. The sides have slight channels that they slide along and it comes out straight at you.
I had my entire glove box replaced under a TSB so the new design is slanted back and is much easier to get in and out to gain access to the small plastic door that covers the filter.
If your concerned about damaging it, just stop by your dealer and they can pull it out and show you in about 60 seconds.
