Hello,
I recently purchased a 07 460 L. Like an idiot I did not inspect the car extremly well. Long story short after getting it home, a week later, I notice some front lines were a little off, so I am almost 100 percent sure it has had some body work. Ultimately I am happy with the car, The work seems to be really good, it has 40K and bumper to bumper expires in may. I was thinking of extending warranty thru lexus. Wondering if anybody has any info about drawbacks from having body work other than resale value?
Thanks for any info in advance
Gabe

welcome to clublexus gabe and congrats on your new car
it's a broad topic and overall it comes down to what was changed / damaged, and how the repair was. for example, if suspension was damaged and changed, however it's not done correctly, then lexus can deny warranty if you have suspension noises, etc... but if the front bumper is repainted, and you have problem with for example your seat, then i don't see how they can deny it
good luck!

Thank you for the welcome. I had an idea it was a little broad. Since it is a used car I am unsure of what work was done therefore I am wondering if I should try to investigate the extent of repair?
Should I feel better if the Lexus dealer fixed it?
I am learning how to navigate the forums. I didnt want to shell out a couple grand to extend the warranty if they would say this car has been in an accident sorry warranty is void. I am a newbie as I am sure you can tell
Thanks again

in most, if not all cases, the dealer or warranty provider must prove that the damage is related to the issue to deny a claim. If a backup sensor on the bumper was damaged from body work or collision, then maybe. But like they said, a seat motor has nothing to do with a fender, etc.
