I special ordered my 2011 LS and paid the Costco price which was $3500 over factory invoice. Seemed like a good deal so I took it, no haggling.

I actually love the haggling procedure. It's like a sport to me. I didn't buy my LS new so I cannot relate to the rest of you, however I did get a helluva deal on my 460.

I special ordered mine and got a great deal. Are you sure you wouldn't have paid MSRP if you bought one off the lot? I know dealers would prefer to sell what they have in stock first, but if they special order one for you, they make the same profit as a similar car on their lot.

In fact they make a little more on a special order because they have use of your deposit money for 3 to 4 months!
I ordered my car the day after it was unveiled by Lexus. There were no LS 460 sitting anywhere at that time, hence the reason for MSRP. And you are absolutely correct about the deposit. They've had it for over 2 months. I guess MSRP is what you pay for wanting to be one of the first one's to get it. Back then, dealerships were making a killing on these cars. No negotiations at all. Don't want to pay MSRP, no problem, we'll sell it to the next person on the waiting list. A year later... different story. My 07 was purchased back by lexus and I was give an option to get an 08, which I did. Paid 10K less for the same car with more options.
