Hey Gang, new member here and need some advice. I am a current RX330 owner and used to own a 2001 IS300 (7 years). My BMW 550i was just considered totaled today (someone ran a red light) and now considering a LS 460. Is there a year I should consider going with? Also I want to make mine appear pretty aggressive and someone mentioned telios rims (to start). So basic thoughts on year and mods would be awesome.

Thank in advance,
dj

If $$$$$ is not an issue I will always get the latest and greatest. Good luck.

I went with Telios rims for use during the summer with OEM a/s tires. I really like the look of the Telios rims, not too aggresive form my taste. I will use the OEM rims with Bridgestone Blizzaks for the winter. Delivery expected in about a week!!

I heard 2013 for redesign, but I don't remember the source so dyeelitt may be correct. In any event, it usually takes a year, or two, to work out the bugs. So, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable buying the new model until 2014-2015.

Look at the front bumper cover of the 07-09 compare with the current design. See which one you like. The current design looks slimmer withe a center opening. Personally I like the 07-09 design. If you like the new design, then it's 2010 CPO or new. If you like the 07-09 design, then a 2009 CPO. No valve spring recalls with 09 and beyond.

well, a quick update. I only had so long on my rental and had to make a decision. I decided to go back to small and got a 2011 silver IS350 F-Sport. Should get it in a few days. I appreciate all the advice but I felt the LS was a little too big (and unfortunately never been a fan of the GS body style).

Anyway, I had my IS300 with almost no issues for 7 years and really liked my dealership. I tell ya, the difference between Lexus dealerships and BMW is pretty large - having experience in multiple shops.

Thanks again and will post pics very soon.

take care,
dj
