intermittent XM issue
I've had my '08 LS for about 4 months now, and I'm experiencing an odd issue with XM.
About a half dozen times since I bought it, when I start it up, XM plays a 1/2 second of music and then goes dead for a 1/2 second. That will continue indefinitely unless you cut the car off and restart it. Happens on all channels and kills the Navtraffic too.
I park in an underground garage at the office, and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. It's almost like there are some bad bits trapped in the system, and it can't clear them out without a reboot.
Anyone else experience this, and if so, did you find a solution? I'm still covered under the factory warranty, so if it's a hardware problem, I'm okay with that.
cheers

do you turn your radio off as your entering into the underground garage or after you notice the signal is gone?
do you notice this problem when your turning your radio back on before you have exited the garage and have a full signal again?
The radio does stream a bit of the signal, I have noticed going under bridges that the signal will continue for a few seconds even after I know I no longer have a signal. It sounds like your scenario may allow for what you are experiencing.

Yesterday that happened to mine as well... started around 4pm central on 2.2.2011. It was fine this morning though. I thought it might have something to do the storm covering half the country right now. Seemed like the Sirius channels were having more problems than the XM channels.

I have the same issue, it seems be random and my guess is that the digital logic in the unit sometimes does not get a clean reset when you start the car.

i listen to xm all the time, no issues like that at all. I had the issue with parking garages in a different car, almost like it gets out of sync. shut car off, start back up and it works again, but the LS has always worked fine.

XM Refresh
My XM radio cuts out about every other month. I would try everything. And sometimes it would come back. But most times not.
Finally learned how to do a XM refresh. And that fixes the problem.

Just type in the radio number from channel "0 " and give it a couple of minutes.
