How you gonna do this and not post up some instructions..KNOWIN' that we all would like to do this! I'm assuming the fog circuit just needs to see a 12v hot to work independently, similar to how I re-wired my fogs in my Acura. I can run those stand alone, but they still shut off when I turn on high beam on. They also turn off unless key is in on position. Perfect, I hope your setup is like that. Please post up a DIY as soon as you can man!! that looks so tight!

im in tears!!!!!!!!! ROTFLmao

but as i told TEE last nite its a lil more involved than that.. bcuz most of the circuits in this car a interconnected..yeah u could probably just put 12v to them an have them come on. but i chose to truly isolate the fogs from the cars system (w relays & fused) plus i can still use the factory switch to turn the fogs on an off. w a 2nd switch under the dash hidden to go between factory an independent settings.. an it all turns off when the cars off.. so its safe! (an my way i can have highs, lows & fogs on at the same time)

thanks for the laugh....it made my day......

i did a VERY simple wiring mod under the dash of my 07 Toyota to make the factory fogs 'anytime'

i wonder if the wiring would be similar for Lexus.

i'll try and find the thread.

EDIT: here's the thread concerning this mod on a Toyota Tundra... i used the method explained in the FogLightsEddieV1.pdf file that's attached to the first post. it involves a simple jumper wire added into the factory wiring.

http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...me-fog-lights/

now i'm sure the Lexus wiring may very well be much more complex... but there might be a similar way.... i'm just not knowledgeable enough in wiring to figure it out

i have heard that it is a PITA and I have also heard it is just a matter of popping off the plastic lens..I really want to get that done..along with visor and trunk lights..then I'm done with LEDs throughout

so a super thin flathead screwdriver won't pop the lens off? I heard these were similar to LS430 puddle lights..if the whole mirror has to come apart, that would suck..more stuff to go wrong. Anyone got service manual that can chime in on the steps???

Well, the LED's were cool, but not enough light at the end of the day. Plus one of Tee's 38 LEDs stopped working (probably shorted)...So after Import Alliance meetup here in ATL, Tee rolled by the house and we swapped out the LEDs and put in the Sylvania 921NA LL (Orange) filament bulbs in each of our cars. The bulb is the same size as the reverse bulb, but much bigger than the 194 bulb and puts out 17 watts of power. The LL stands for Long Life according to Sylvania. The orange light is clearly visible in the daytime and gives the true parking light look. They also make the silver star version that would put out the cool white look if you wan that option. I took some shots of how the orange bulbs now look on my car. I like them better.

And just a word of caution, whether LED or filament, the bulbs in the nike light position can and will slip out of the connector and can fall into your housing during removal if it catches the opening lip just right.....so be extra careful when removing them. Luckily they don't seem to block any light if they fall down in there.

Yeah, I thought the 38 LEDs looked bright too, but I noticed right away how much brighter the 921s were. They are essentially reverse lights/parking/turn signal bulbs in some cars. In addition I simply don't trust these cheap azz deal extreme bulbs to be honest. So, I wanted to see if the 921's fit and they did. Now, I know I can roll with those for a long time and not worry about changing them out frequently. I love rollin with my park lights at dusk and dawn and these can actually be seen from further away
