Do you live near a rock quarry and always get stuck behind the trucks driving at 55mph?..just sayin... some states don't have a windshield deductible..even better. i bet one straight up out of pocket is probably really expensive. If the scratch is in your field of vision, insurance would most likely replace your window. I know I had some wind/sand blast damage while in colorado and the scratches/pits were in my field of view, got a new windshield next day no questions asked, no deductible

I have a horrid rock chip on the windshield. I looked at costs and found it was around 1500 - 2300 bucks!! $2300 is what the dealer charges.. And.. there are 8 windshield types for the LS. So you have to specific to match the original on windshield that comes on the car.

For me, I lived w/ the horrid windshield chip, and just got it patched up.. Still looks bad, but definitely not as bad as before and definitely cheaper...

see if your insurance has a no deductible windshield policy -- i've seen that mentioned a few times.

I just had mine done like 4-6 weeks ago and it came to 1500 total but my deductible was 100. Tell them to be careful with the gel pad sensor for the windshield wipers. They messed mine up and I had my wipers turning on by themselves for no reason. I had it replaced out of my pocket because I dont have time to hunt down the glass people. I think that came to 109 with labor at the dealership
