Thoughts on tint % on black/black 460L
Hey guys,
Traded my Bimmer 750Li and recently got into an 08 LS460L and love it. It's black on black and I am in Texas. I was thinking about getting the legal tint on the front (35% I think) and 20% on the back and rear windows.
Any thoughts on whether this is dark enough....I like my privacy but also want to see at night.
Thanks for the feedback

I went dark on some of my previous cars but find that I like the tint to look even all the way around . So I go legal all the way around. I live in the hills and drive in the dark a decent amount and hate turning a corner and being unable to see while driving. There are a lot of kids in the area and I dont want to be unable to see them. In the end there is form and function. In this case I go for function

for tint you need to ask the Q, are you going for looks/privacy, IR/UV rejection or both?
There are some excellent tints out there that will give you very good IR rejection in the summer (I live in So Cal) while allowing you to keep the tint a bit lighter so you have max visibility. I have black on black and went with 35 in the back and 50 in the front and it looks a lot darker because of the black interior and I get very good heat rejection, but dont get hassled by the cops and kept a clear view.

not in florida... been drving around for 2 years and even been pulled over but not for tint... its like they dont even look at it here... also had test pipes on the car and a bunch of other illegal stufff on the car that you would get the #$%$ beat down on you if you were in Socal....hahhaa but my only complaint is that i can barely see ANYTHING at night
haha but ya when it comes time to tint my car ( towards the summer) im proably going to go a little lighter this time around.

yeah, FL really doesn't seem to trip on window tint..if i lived there, i would do 5%, esp with my bright interior..i do plan to move there in the near future though, but my 15 looks pretty good...i may just get the rear window redone at 5% and leave the rest 15%

I ended up getting 35% and 20% on rear window. Totally regret it. I am going to have the rear windows done at 15% and rear window at 15%. I am looking for some more privacy. Although in the Dallas area some inspection stations have a tint gauge they use for the front windows.
