dvd changer not showing inserted discs -- normal behavior?
hey all,
i have a few discs in the changer right now, but when i hit the audio screen, it only shows maybe one or two. i can access them by pushing the disc up/down button on the bottom of the console, but not the screen. is this normal?
thanks!
charles

If you are playing a CD the CD tab on the audio screen should show the playing track and title/album etc. if available on the database. This would be only for the currently playing CD. Touch the Change CD button to bring up a list of all the CDs currently loaded in the player. It should list them all. If not, something sounds wrong.
By any chance are any of the CDs you are using data discs with mp3 fiiles. I have found the following discs/formats work for both data and audio discs: CD-R, CD-RW, however, response times are not very fast. You have to be patient and wait for the system to determin the content.

mike, i have a dvd video disc and 2 mp3 cd's in the stacker right now -- the first part works like you say (the mp3 id/dvd chapter information shows up correctly) but when i look at the bottom half where all of the stacker positions are listed, it'll only show the dvd and the current playing disc, even though i have 3 discs in the stacker. weird

Yes, very odd. You might try initially one mp3, then add a second, then a third and see what happens. Then you might include the DVD and progressively add mp3s. This might narrow down what the culprit is. Or ...

Just another thought. I'm planning to try wma files since they should also be compatable. I saw somewhere that they were lossless and smaller file sizes than mp3. I am also going to play around with the various options.
