Default Finally got my LS460, how did I do?

I procrastinated far too long and suddenly I realized my IS lease was about to expire in less than a week, I thought I had another week. So I only had a weekend to shop for a car.

I was planning to travel as far as 1200 miles to get my LS, now I could only limit my search within 150 miles. I also looked at brand new ES and GS just for comparsion but they're just not as compelling as CPO LS.

My choice narrowed down to a 2007 black on black with ML and 33,000 miles and a 07 spinel noble mica (or dark ruby red) 21,500 miles with nav, park assist, backup camera, and rear sun shade but no ML, which was my must have option. Both of them were SWB, CPO and $36,000 final negotiated price. It's a tough choice but I finally sacrificed ML for lower mileage and better color. I tried to avoid black as many members here mentioned Lexus black paint was as soft as butter and not as scratch resistant as other paint colors and I think black is bit on the boring side. I also paid $2,200 for an extended CPO warranty for an additional 3 years and to 125,000 miles.

I have driven my LS460 for 3 weeks now and I love every moment. I have felt the pull of LS for a long time, even though I had an IS I didn't visit the IS forum and always come here to the LS460 forum.

I don't know if I have the wind noise problem or not. At 60 miles/hr, it's not noticeable and I have to pay attention to pick up on the wind noice, it becomes noticeable at 80 mph. Is LS supposed to tomb-like quiet even at high speed?

The car also had VSR already done, am I going to get the $500 credit?

And where can I get the OEM all-weather rubber mats?

You did great with the warranty!! Is it the Lexus Financial Vehicle Service Agreement? It's what I got, also 3 additional years, to 125K miles and I paid $4500. My car had 60K at time of purchase. I wonder if that had anything to do with the difference in price? Anyone know??

In case you are interested in upgrading your audio, I just did mine for a little over 2 grand and will blow ML system away. Go to the end of this thread to see the details. There are also some other threads from cmasten with pictures of his upgrade. I was regretting not getting ML at first but now I'm glad I went aftermarket.

My car also had the VSR done before I bought it, I doubt we will receive the $500. I bought mine in October and haven't received anything yet.

On the wind noise issue, I didn't notice it at first, until we had a few windy days in my area. Then it was very noticeable. I will be doing the JMcRaney DIY fix soon, hopefully it will help.

I've seen pictures of the new OEM all-weather mats and they were similar to the replacement mats I received for my IS. The new ones are very thin compared to the nice thick ones I had before the IS recall and would be a total waste of money if I had bought them. I just purchased a set of all-weather mats from www.weathertech.com and they are pretty nice and fit perfect. They are a little thinner than the old OEM all-weather mats (I compared them to my GX mats) but way better than the new OEM mats. If you have black interior, there is a set of front old OEM all-weather mats on Ebay.

I would say your going to pay a little more than 30k for that car. I would estimate 32 to 33k. I paid $38500 for mine and it only had 32 k miles on it

Yes, it is the Lexus Financial VSA. I just received the agreement, total of 6 years of coverage from the time I took possession or 125k total miles whichever comes first. It must be purchased with the vehicle, there's no option to buy it later on. The dealer originally quoted me $2,400 for 100K and $3,400 for 125K. After we agreed on the price of vehicle, the dealer wanted me to sign the purchase agreement right away, I declined, and wanted to negotiate the price of warranty as a package deal. We went back and forth and I prepared to walk and finally agreed on the price of warranty.

I don't know if mileage should affect the price of warranty. I'd think it would cost less as higher mileage has less miles to cover before it reaches the 100k or 125K limit.

BTW, the car was originally listed at $39,777 on Lexus CPO search website. Is 10% off from the list price a norm in CPO price negotition?

Member, I'm a bit confused, so the car was already a Lexus CPO that you paid 36k for... but then you paid an additional $2200 to add the LFVSA--which then effectively gives you 125k of coverage vs 100k?

The CPO warranty that comes with the car is 3 years and 100k which expires in 2014. The extended warranty adds another 3 years and 25K, which expires 2017, for a total of 6 years and 125K whichever comes first.

I drive about 10k to 12k miles a year, so time duration will expire much sooner than mileage under the original warranty in my case. Lexus also offers extended CPO warranty with different durations and mileage, like 4yrs/75k & 100k, 5yrs/100k & 125k. 6yrs/125k is the longest with the most mileage, the 6yrs/100k plan could have suited me just fine with my current driving routine but I added 25k in case my commuting routine changes.

BTW, the warranty is not transferable but I'll get a prorated refund for my unused portion if I sell or trade in the car before the extended warranty expires.

I bought my car in October, the CPO warranty was 4 years/100k.

I like the WeatherTech mats. I used to get the regular all weather mats from them but with my 4Runner I got their FloorLiner™ DigitalFit® mats. If the car is going to be driven in winter I recommend the FloorLiner™ DigitalFit® mats over the regular all season mats. It protects your carpet more.

You might want to check the added 25k warranty, it is only good for an adtt'l year....at least that is what the dealer told me. it was $1,700 and not negotiable....so they may have just brought down the cost of your car
