What size speakers do I have?
I have a 2010 LS460L and didn't get the ML sound system Now I want to upgrade but I don't know they specs on the speaker system that is in the car. Is there anyone out there that can tell me what the sizes are and how many so I can go look online to purchase some speakers? I am going to let a pro install everything but I want to look for the speakers myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I ended up going with the Focal 165A3 6.5" 3-ways in the front, Focal 100CA1 4" 2-ways in the rear doors. (these are the "entry level" Focals but still sound phenomenal)
JL 8" sub 8W1V24 mounted in the rear deck where the old sub was.
JL XD700 5 channel amp.
AudioControl LC8i oem integration.
Total with parts/labor/tax etc was 2200. Everything looks completely stock, Focals and JL sub fit perfectly where the old (paper) speakers were, amp and oem unit are hidden in the rear quarter panel where the stock amp is. Dial to adjust subwoofer is inside the center console below the aux input. Dropped the car off yesterday around 11 am and it was done by 7 pm. Couldn't be happier.
Edit: the above is a cut and paste from my upgrade a few weeks ago. Mine is a 2008 so not sure if it the same as 2010.

There you have it, if its non ML then separates in the front and 4.5 coax in the back with an 8 inch in the rear deck. You can put just about anything in there you like speaker wise, even a larger sub in its own tuned enclosure in your trunk, just make sure your get a DSP to interface to your stock amp so you can take the various signals out and normalize them all into full frequency line level so you can put that back into a good quality amp. Alpine, JL, Rockford Fosgate and others make very good quality ones
We know that the Focals fit perfect, but they start at 2x more expensive over Alpine, Polk, Infinity. For about 2k you can get a sound system that is fully controlled by your factory head unit and the steering controls, you wont be able to tell its not factory except that the quality of your lows, mids and highs will all be better :-) By the way, adding in power doesnt make it necessarily louder...it makes it much cleaner at low levels also. I run 3 Focal amps for just over 1,000 watts in total but only listen to it at lower to mid levels, the balance is stunning however and you have the ability to control the level of every channel, the time delays, EQ, Slope of the cross overs etc.
I actually link to my DSP with my MacBook Pro laptop with blue tooth and see the physical layout of my drivers and can adjust just about every attribute of my audio. The LS is a perfect car to drop aftermarket audio into if you didnt take advantage of the ML factory system.
