Default what synthetic oil is everybody using?

just about to do my first oil change since i got my Lex.

98500 miles.

what synthetic is everybody using? brand and weight.

what intervals are you changing and would you suggest at my mileage?

are oil changes difficult to do on the 08 LS 460? is there a DIY thread with instructions?

I use Mobil 1 also, when I find 0-20 I get it, but usually its Costco with the best price on a case (5-30) of 6 at $25.00 when they are on special. I change mine out every 6-7k miles, here in LA the air is dirty so filters and oil I change out often.

several very good DIYs up here if you query for it.

I have a 2007 LS - I use Mobil 1 0W-20 and change the oil every 5K.
The 2007 service manual calls for 5K mile change intervals and recommands
0W-20. I understand the 2011 calls for oil changes every 10K miles. Not sure what change in the 2011 that would warrant extending the oil change interval.

0W20 Mobil 1 Once a year, or every 5000 miles. You can find OW20 Mobil 1 at Wal-Mart. I've also had my oil changed at the Toyota dealer using 0W20 Toyota oil which is Mobil 1 labeled for Toyota.

Mobil 1 is all I've ever used.

The weight will vary by location and time of year. In cold temperatures you want to use a lighter weight and in hot temperatures a heavier weight.

yes, i'd imagine that to be true. the manual states 0w20 or 5w20 are both acceptable, but suggests 0w20 for fuel economy reasons

Default Valvoline 0w20 full synthetic

I have Valvoline Instant Oil Change order it in for me. . only takes a couple days, and raises the oil change total cost to about $100, but that is still a bargain compared to anywhere else.

My car gets Castrol fully synthetic 5w30 every 5K - 6K miles with a new filter every time and new air filters every other oil change.

And when I do the change, the oil is dirty and the air filters are just gone. So you can imagine what weather conditions I drive my car in.

Quick Reply: what synthetic oil is everybody using?
