Default My LS unused for a month...battery concern?

I'll be away from home for the month of May and my LS will be sitting in the garage unused. I know there is some drain on the battery without the engine running, so I am hoping someone can tell me if I should worry about finding a dead battery when I return. Just in case, I will back my car in to allow easy access to the engine compartment. Notice I was careful not to say "easy access to the battery".

I'd disconnect the battery just to be sure.

+1 on that I would just take the negative cable off or get a trickle charger.

If the battery is good I would bet money that it ain't gonna die in two months.

i have left mine for 3 weeks before, no worries..and that battery was actually on its way out! the trickle charger or disconnecting negative cable is all good too. I do wonder if the cable is removed, how long before the radio, seat and other presets will last. Not sure how long the onboard computer can retain those kind of settings?

good point as most likely are presets will probably be erased. I know there is a little device that has a 9v battery in it to keep your preset will doing work on your vehicle, that would require you removing the negative cable.

i know with most domestic cars, the cigarette lighter stays active after the car is turned off, but not most foreign cars. The cigarette lighter trickle charger would be perfect, but I am pretty sure that would not work on our cars since the circuit is basically cut off when ignition is off..logically that makes sense to me, perhaps the battery would still receive current..i dunno. if so, the cord could easily pass through the bottom of the door then on to a wall plug

No need to keep commenting on this frivolous question. The battery(if good) will not die in 1 months time. And to boot, who cares if your radio presets and seat positioning get drained out( which it most likely wont) it just gives you another opportunity to find better radio stations and seat positions! Seriously, this is the worst thread ever!

I didn't start mine most of the winter and it started right up like it was running the previous day.

I guess you are just being a concerned and caring car owner. My bad for the comment, however what some of you fail to realize is that this is a car, and a Lexus to boot. It has been through millions of miles of testing before even coming to market, it can withstand neglect and abuse to an extent and still carry a smile. No need to be soo sensitive, and handle your car with kid gloves.
