WOW! Ok now it's getting ridiculous, they could have at least changed it to look similar with their own spin, but to almost carbon copy the design is very original. They have gone pass peeking over the fence at Lexus to standing in the yard.

That's what hyundia and kia have doing, making carbon copies of the japanese luxury brands, lexus infiniti and acura.

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".
Lexus did much the same thing to the Euro brands.
To my eyes the LS400 copied the Mercedes and the LS460 looks
more like a 7 series.
The difference here is it looks as if Hyundai is trying to make a near
exact copy of the Lexus.
In fact I saw a Genesis today. I just cannot get over the fact
it is still called a Hyundai. They should have at least made a luxury
nameplate for it. When you get it serviced, you go to the Hyundai
dealership. Quite a different experience from a Lexus dealership.
I also think they have some transmission durability issues. Sorry to chase
rabbits......

The 7 series actually came out in 1977 (I think) but the body style I'm referring to is the 2002-2005 and the 2006-2008. But now that you mention it, the 2009+ looks like BMW may have actually copied the LS460 a little.
Go Figure.....

Have yet to see an Equus on the road. Only saw once once earlier this year right by the Hyundai dealership probably someone going for a test drive. Haven't seen once since. Maybe because people spending 65k+ want something original....

It must be really easy to be a Hyundai car designer. Just take all the nice styling features that made a car unique and not even tweak it to make it your own. Then stick it on a car and make it way cheaper... How creative...

i have been in both equus and genisis and all i can say is that they gave it a good shot for a 1st attempt at this type of market (and they also were available overseas for some time also before they came to the states) but i found the design to be more dull and more following the ls430 in terms of the generation comparison wise...the materials used (plastic leather buttons etc.) are still way below the standards of lexus quality or any other well known luxury brand for that matter...but thats just my 1st impressions... i have yet to drive any of them but im planning to do it soon out of boredom and curiosity...
