Default Tanabe NF210 Springs Review Thread - Inputs please

Hey Everyone, I never thought I would think of dropping my LS460, but after seeing a few things about the NF210, I am now investigating this option. It seems like these really keep the ride the same, but take out the fender gaps and give the car less bouncyness on take offs, braking and turns.

For those of you who have these installed, please provide the pros and cons on your experience with these. I know others are on the fence about dropping their LS's too. Thought it would be good to have the reviews on one thread to help everyone out.

CDW91, I know you have provided nothing but positive comments on your springs on previous threads, appreciate the input!

I have had Tanabe springs in the past and Tein springs.......they always sag on the drivers side. Coilovers is the best bet and it will actually ride better than it would with springs. The coilovers are about $600 more and even that is dirt cheap for a coilover set up to be honest

I had tanabes on my gs and i didn't see a sag and they rode better than factory in my opinion. I am def. getting them for my LS. They have 3 pluses in my book. Alot Cheaper, Great Ride, and Narrows the fender gap! Can't beat them for the price.

I currently have the Tanabe springs on my LS 460 and have no sag. The ride is a little stiffer but that's to be expected. You'll be changing the factory set-up. Definitely looks better though. You have to decide, better looks for a little less ride quality. I haven't had coil overs but I imagine the ride is going to be better than just swapping the springs, but still not to factory specs.

sagging huh? IIRC, my old HR Sports and Eibachs had specific drivers and passenger side springs to account for driver weight or something like that..not sure if Tanabe is setup that way also..but that is interesting that it is just the drivers side that sags?

As far as coilovers, i have heard things from each end..they ride better to they ride harsher..they say these are 5% stiffer..to me that doesn't seem like much but OSU says you can def feel the difference. I suppose the difference in how these feel really depends also on type of roads, wheel size and tires too. I got a 20" real cozy kind of tire setup..so if I get these, i just hope to have less float and less wheel gap..i also liked the raked look (back end slightly higher than front)

Yeah, it depends on your set-up. The way my car rides doesn't bother me at all, but I've noticed a lot of people on this forum seem to want to maintain their factory ride and for the most part, their factory look. If you change your suspension and add bigger wheels, your ride is going to change. IMO, not drastically, but again, what's more important to you and what are you trying to achieve.

As far as sagging I will admit that I am much taller and heavier than the average driver. The could be from the added weight but if I weigh about 300 lbs and the average driver is about 200 lbs I dont see how the added 100 lbs would cause the sagging. I do know that I have heard others complain about the sag. In fact our stock springs sag on the left side even at stock height.............maybe I will get the springs.lol

I was wondering if when you dropped the car if the headlights needed to be raised to compensate for the extra .7" drop in the front or does the system in the car just adapt and raise itself?

Thats what I thought. I will admit that the one thing I dont like about the Tanabes is that the front is dropped significantly more than the rear. Makes the car look tilted forward. I am thinking if I do the drop I will stick wit the coil overs, although the springs are still pretty tempting. My fear is that I drop the car with the springs, hate the drop, then end up just doing the coils anyway. This is what happened on my GS. I was much happier with the Tein CST that I was with just Tein springs
