Caha,

Good read and outcome on your new LS. You are a brave man for buying sight unseen. I am probably one of the only people on here who would rather buy used from an individual rather than a dealer. You can usually get the car a little cheaper and you can get a sense of how the car was treated. I have also been to Manheim, PA auctions several times and as you noted, almost all of the cars sold there have some issue with some panel or bumper needing refinishing or if there has been any paint work, it is usually sub par so the prices there don't tell the whole story. Anyway, congrats on the purchase, your car looks great.

Thank you! Nobody who knows how I am about cars could believe me when I told them I bought a car off eBay. The people at my local dealership were all in disbelief when I pulled up with this thing!

Buying from an individual would have been ideal, and I agree with your points. Unfortunately, this time around asking prices for what I found were ridiculously inflated, and it felt like it would be a lot harder to talk a private seller down by $8-$10k in some cases (I kid you not) as opposed to the $5k I talked the dealer down by on this car.

Thanks again for the compliments!
