Lexus LS460L red light
Hello,
I come to you because my boss is supposedly having an issue with his Lexus LS460L. Whenever he shuts off his car he gets a red blinking light by the windows of the driver and passenger that blinks over and over. He swears it has never done this before and wants to know how he can turn it off.
I thought it was the alarm system but he thinks different. Whenever I put the alarm on the light becomes solid.
He said he might have hit the "emergency" button. Is there any way to shut this off?
Thanks,
Matt

That red light gives you the status of the alarm. It blinks and blinks at different rates depending on whether the alarm was set off or not. There's a light on each front door. Mines blinks and the longer the car sits inactive, the slower they begin to blink.

Not to worry. The blinking red indicators on the front doors are part of the alarm system. They always blink, when the ignition is off, except for 30 seconds after the alarm system is armed when they are on solid red.
Your boss is suffering from one of the human frailties that many of us have in fixating on blinking red lights. In this case it is not a problem. All LS460s have these blinking lights on the doors.

Is there a way to turn off these blinking lights? It sounds like blinking means the security sys is off, is that righht?
I'd like to turn off the security system when my car is in the garage and not have the lights blink, is that possible?
