CPO Lexus - Minimum Tire Treadwear
Any of you Lexperts know the minimum treadwear for tires for a qualifying CPO Lexus.
I'm looking at an 09 LS with 19k miles with tires at 5/32. Man, those factory Bridgestone's must be paper thin. Does the CPO program standard call for new tires in this case?
52900 for an 09 LS SWB NAV LEVINSON 19k CPO sound reasonable in today's market?
Big thanks!

That's still too high for me even with new tires........just my opinion. There is not much different in 08' & 09'................ have you consider a 08' with low mi.? It is easy for me to sit here and say it is not good deal, but i really think you can do a lot better if you look around. Where are you in Texas? BTW, is 51,900 out the door?

I'm in Houston. 51900 plus TTL = 55500 drive out. Dealer came down $1000. Can't find an 09 or 08 with that low of mileage that compares price wise. Plus it has NAV, LEVINSON, CPO, Alabaster Int, all options that are non-negotiable for me. Just off lease in near new condition. The market seems to be in short supply of used LS's with low mileage right now. Dealer is firm at that price. Service records and car fax are spotless. The new tires probably were another $1000. What do you think?

When i was shopping for my LS, i noticed that price in Houston are couple of Thousands higher than say Dallas/Fort Worth area. Let me guess this car is at Northside Lexus. Are you willing to travel for your LS? I flew to Denver and drove back..........it was a fun one-way trip. Don't get too excited about the $1000 new tires, because a CPO car should at least have more than 80% of tread and sometime new tires already included in CPO. Again no way i am gonna pay 55500 otd.

Actually, it's at a dealership in Dallas. I agree with you regarding Houston prices. That's why I don't shop locally. I've been shopping throughout the country for about 4 months now and I need to buy. Unfortunately, I can't find a better deal with the options and colors I want anywhere else. The market is slim compared to a few years or even months ago.

I don't like to nickle and dime anyone, but i just don't feel the price is right for this LS. If you have been in the market for awhile and this color combo/options is what you wanted, then maybe the price is worth it to you.

It took me almost a year to find my LS with the color combo and options i wanted, and i didn't pay premium for it.........couldn't be happier. Patience for me has paid off.

If its AWD in my area that is a good deal. I paid $52k for my non-CPO 24k mile car (I didn't need CPO since it still had 2 years left on the factory warranty) in January 2011. There were two with 18k mile cars that sold within 3 days for $50k but it was not the color I wanted and the color combo I wanted was not negotiable for me so I paid what I paid since there were none in the color combo I wanted with ML within 200 miles with AWD. I'm not waiting a year to save a few grand considering it will be cheaper anyway due to depreciation by that time and I would be happier driving the car during that year. I still follow the prices around me and it's still hard to find what I wanted for cheaper since they didn't sell many in 2009 compared to 2008 and 2007. If I was in TX I would try and find a low mileage 2008 and save $10k since AWD is not important and the changes in 2009 were negligible.
