??where to install springs help??
Hey guys, well I got my tanabe lowering springs in and it's time to get them put on I know that there is rer seat removal involved to get to the rears and I am not able to do this install myself due to lack of tools and experience :/ SO I went to get a quote from Lexus for the install and they gave me a quote to install them for $736 with tax, (also the service representative was very rude to me for some reason) but I was wondering if you guys might have any other suggestions on where to install them for maybe a slightly better price? I have done this once on my g35 at a ratty shop but I will not let them touch the LS I'm in the north Florida area if you guys know any good shops around here.
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

thats what i asked them!! and also they said that there is a VERY unnecessary environmental fee which they couldn't explain to me. Also, i usually deal with a cool guy that is into modding but he wasnt available today so i ended up with another service representative that was very rude and insulting me for wanting to install the springs...but yeah, stealership prices are crappy

BTW guys i forgot to mention that they sent me a $1000 Lexus card and they said that they couldnt use it with this card BUT they said they will take off 10% of the entire install which is $736 that i listed above... its their loss...
but anyways looks like im gona go to a shop and remove the rear seats myself (i dont have the power reclining seats) SO can anyone give me tips or something on how to remove them?? i remember there being a thread on how to do it but i cant find it
i know that you have to pull up the bench and that there are a few bolts for the upper section but im not sure about it...and im scared to try it myself without messing something up ( like i always do )
any input and help on this will be greatly appreciated
O and Mike the cv-1's will be on hopefully 2marro

there is a youtube video on the rear seat removal..looked pretty simple to just access the rear seat strut tower bolts. http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...t+removal&aq=f
$200..that is a smokin azz deal and I go Orlando a lot..hmmmm.... I read another post that the Tanabe's drop much more than they advertise which had me concerned. I understand some settling is to be expected, but I really don't want camber issues as much as I road trip. I'm still trippin on $200..thats crazy cheap

thanks for helping me out through PM'ing Shibumi...im going to go down there once i have some free time...
CJITTY, i also watched those videos before and they do help out, the only minor difference is that the one they were doing (hyper's car) has the reclining rear seats (which i don't have so it will be a bit easier)
i also saw the therad that Tony posted up about the camber that has been eating up the tires and that also kind-of freaks me out a bit, but CDW91 posted up the part numbers for the extendable control arm brackets that get rid of the unneeded camber when the car is lowered
"courtesy of CDW91"
Part numbers are:
LH:
1. 48617-50030
2. 48617-50050
RH:
1. 48614-50030
2. 48614-50050
the parts are like $35 each at lexuspartsnow.com so its not that bad, just need to know how to install them

well, if the drop was indeed .08, typically most cars would have enough leeway to not go out of camber acceptable range on the Hunter, but of course with settling of the springs, the drop will be more. My Acura is easily at least 1" lower all around on H&R Sport Springs from what they advertised. After about 2 years on them, I finally drifted out of range to get within "green" range and had to get the camber kits, which was the best thing you can do for a lowered car. These arms would solve the issue for sure and that is cheap, esp for Lexus parts. The car did ride better and tire noise was reduced since it was getting full contact with the road. Tires are pretty advanced these days and noise reduction components are embedded within the tread design...pretty cool stuff.
