I'm getting ready to close on this LS460L non-CPO non lexus dealer. I ran into a problem as the listing, KBB, and Car Fax all say RWD but when I logged onto the Lexus website and checked the VIN # it says that its an AWD??
On my GS you can tell if it was AWD because of the awd badge and the 4 X 4 look. On this LS460L i can't tell? Help?
Vin # is:JTHGL46F995033618

Unless it was removed, there is an AWD badge on the right side of the trunk lid.
Otherwise you can just get down on all fours and see if there are driveshafts going to the front wheels!

That VIN does look like that of a long wheelbase RWD, not AWD. It is strange that it is showing up as AWD on the owners website. What year is the car?
The VIN codes (if I am not mistaken) are as follows:
JTHB... LS460
JTHC... LS460AWD
JTHG... LS460 L
JTHD... LS460 L AWD

That's definitely not an AWD, as I said, based on the VIN.
FWIW, Lexus systems (that customers have access to) are notorious for mistakes, contradictory information and other issues, at least based on my own experience consistently finding issues on all of their websites - always. I have no idea who handles that for them, but in some regards they are behind where Honda was five years ago. That could explain what you saw.
Thankfully that does not extend to the vehicles...
