Default 460L and 460

...please dont flame me.....I had my heart set on the 460L, for the luxury factor, but the more I think about it and the more I see it, the 460 may be a better option with less problems. i.e. 460L and lowering may be a pain the ##$% with the lowering module, while the 460 can do the same lowering with coilovers and results the same. Also, I have never compared both 460 and 460L in lenght right next to each other? is it? very noticeable?

Lastly, Is there anything that the 460L has over the standard 460 besides length? and the luxury options in the back seat???

Just my .02 cents!

. .. oh yeah, the price difference as well!

I think I may go with just the 460?

You can definitely tell the difference in length between the 460 or 460L. I prefer the "L" because of the air suspension and the comfort when lowered. Doesn't the "L" holds its value more? The only way that I would go for the 460 is if I decide to go after market air.

i went thru the same thing in dec.. i opted for the 460 (swb) with the comfort pkg.. which gave me most of the rear seat options an the price was great!!! jus lowered it.. looks awesome. im 5'7'' so the extra rear leg room isnt missed much overall i love my Ls

LOL. seriously. even MSN autos has dimensions comparo. lexus.com is a good source for info. ES350 is 191.1inches long while swb LS460 is 199.2inches(203.9for L). Far from same lenght.

For options/packages check out original brochures at toyotareference.com All Lexus' and most toyota info.

If parking is no problem i'd def get the L version. Looks like 07-09 are 198inches and 202.8.

BTW. Package with power/reclining seat for SWB is called comfort plus. heated/cooled, reclining memory rear seats.

When I was shopping around for my LS I also was trying to make the decision on which one to get. Personally I don't need the extra rear room and with my SWB I can have the seat all the way back and have knee room to spare in the back ( I'm 6') i also just came from daily driving a G35coupe that was basically slammed and stances so my bottom couldnt feel the difference anymore after years of beating LOL my dad has a ls430 on air and it's comfy but since I threw my wheels on and lowering will come soon it's not like I'm craving every inch of comfort. I'm also a single guy with no family so space isn't an issue. Im very happy with my choice but I'm not really picky go test drive both models for your self and make a final decision off of what you liked the most. Also if you live in an area with bad roads the air could make a difference, the ones here are good. I hope you make a fine decision!! Either way you will be pleased IMHO

I had the same dilema when I was shopping but went with the LWB. My decision was based on the fact that I wanted to lower the car as easily as possible and any height I'd want and it actually rode better stock for stock. No one rides in my car but my wife and I so the rear leg room isnt a plus but Im 6'3 275 so my seats are wayyyy back. Just a personal opinion but I feel the L looks more luxurious.

to me the difference is quite noticeable. but keep in mind i test drives a lot of ls460. the ls460 has more road few and you feel more of the bumps. air suspension is much smoother and quieter. again this is comparison, both are very soft. also keep in mind, lwb will have better ride quality because of the wheel base.

regarding lwb vs swb, i only wanted lwb and i wouldn't do swb. lwb has air suspension (back in 07), softer and smoother, and more exclusive options that you can't get with the swb. the extra length is very noticeable, all goes to the rear. driving wise both drive about the same, although the lwb is almost 5 inches longer, it doesn't make the car harder to drive
