Default Power Mode / All The Time

I own an 2007 LS460. By far the best piece of machinery I have ever owned. If I put the car on POWER MODE all the time, will this hurt the engine? I was told by one of the sales reps who sold me the car, that POWER MODE should only be used for highway driving.

Can anyone help?

Switch to Power mode and the transmission spends more time in the lower gears — to the detriment, I imagine, of fuel economy.

I dont foresee this hurting anything. You can also unplug the battery for about an hour and that will reset what the car has learned about your driving style. Then you can drive it more aggressively if that is your style and even under normal it will adapt accordingly.

Normal will always try and give you the smoothest shift points and fuel economy. Power mode (for me) is really a city stop and go, give it to me when I need it setting, not for the open highway)

Try the reset and see if that works for you, otherwise I would set it to power and enjoy it. You have one of the most reliable vehicles on the planet.

Only thing you will hurt is your MPG's other than that you will be fine, salesman is an idiot for telling you that.
