backup assist
I have 2009 ls460 and my volume for the backup assist is at max according to the dealer, it is set to high in the dash. the front is a little louder than the rear, does anyone have the same problem , I have a 2010 Buick and the volume is 5x the louder, I don’t know if I have to test drive a used Lexus to see if it is my car ? or if this is normal..

I assume you are refering to the "Intuitive Parking Assist" feature. There may be differences for the 2009 model year but for the 2011 you can access the volume control for the "Intuitive Parking Assist" buzzer by pressing the Setup button then touch Vehicle then touch LEXUS Park Assist on the Vehicle Settings screen. You can set the volume between 1 and 5. I don't recall any difference between the front and rear sensor buzzer response volume.

I have it set for 5 and the front is louder then the back . When i use it to back up i hear a low beep in the rear center speaker. It never gets faster like the front one does. Do u think the dealer will charge me to look at it if i have the 100000 mile ext. warranty with no deductable?

I checked and the front and back operate in the same manner. Beeping at a slow rate at first then as the vehicle gets closer to the object the beeping speeds up and eventually is continous. The visual bars start at four then change to three etc. until a single hatched red bar displays. The rear system seems to produce a somewhat higher pitched tone than the front and perhaps a very little quieter but not much.
The volume (I have it set on 5) is loud enough to be readily noticable over any reasonable audio volume.
Your experience doesn't seem to be what it should be unless there is a difference between model years (mine is a 2011). I would have expected this to be a valid warrantee claim if there is a fault but I am not positive.

taking the car to the deal Friday, they tell me it will cost 125.oo for diagnostics, WTF what good is having the extended warranty. my back bumper one is so low the sound comes out of the back center speaker only.
