note - LSs above are on 22". 20" lipped(not full face) look too small for the LS. I know this isnt a 22"vs20"debate thread but OP - check out a few LS with 20" to see what i mean.

i was trying to find some but wasn't able to, i would really appreciate it if you could post a link to some so i could see the difference.

also, how big of a difference is the ride going from 20" to 22"?
and how big overall from 18" to 22" assuming i have the air ride suspension and bridgestone serentiy tires?

i obv really want my ride to look good, however i'm not going to slam it and put huge wheels on and destroy the whole point of why i'm getting the lexus.

i do ALOT of driving....i go from san fran to LA/vegas and back quite often (close to 50K miles/year) so just cannot ruin the ride.

I went with 20s because of my commute and frequent road trips. But, 22s do look good and the 20s vs 22s debate will always be there with big cars like ours. You can always get 22s and when you take a road trip, throw on the 18s for added comfort. Sure, its a slight hassle, but when I did this on my other car, i could swap out in about 20 mins or so. I am getting ready to buy the Tanabe NF210 springs that stiffen the ride by no more than 5% (according to Tanabe) and it takes out the fender gap. I plan to keep my 20s for now and perhaps down the road go with 22s since my commute has recently decreased from 25 miles one way, to 8. If I do a long road trip, especially if I am headed toward snow prone areas, the 18s are going back on for sure

Make the best decision for you, its your car.

hey guys,

i def don't want to turn this into a 20" vs 22" debate, there is a ton of info out there for me to mull over anyways so def don't need to add any fuel to the fire.

cjittys car looks great to me and is the perfect combo of looks + comfort.

cheers.

Ohh thats crazy I havent seen it in person but only online.
I did see his wheels for sale on craigslist in that area recently and i considered buying them for my 600h but i then i saw them on his car online and I did not want the same rims that another LS already has. Interesting...

Like our CV3 which is a full face 20" wheel...spokes extend all the way out....

exactly the style i was thinking of. But Mike, the LS is much bigger than e/cls or gs so my concern is that those spokes would look too thin.

as long the drop is on par you should be good, that E look sick! yeah the LS is a more brolic looking car so you have to do it right but I think the cv would look good, the cls is closer to the ls460 size not as close as the S class but the as you see the concave look in the back is nice.

Seeing Mike's GS 450h in person with the 20" Matte Black CV3s really give off the impression that they are actually bigger than that..more like 21s With the silver/machined spokes version of the CV3s, I think they would look even bigger with the silver/machine reflectivity and would look great on a dropped LS.

To help paint the picture , here are the dimensions for the Lexus LS SWB and MB CLS. The CLS is a little smaller obviously, but I think is shows a decent representation on how they may look on a bigger car. I find the width interesting..CLS is just as wide as an LS, but LS is 6 inches longer..thats pretty significant

Exterior Dimensions

CLS Length, Overall (in) 193.0
LS 460 Length, Overall (in) 199.2

CLS Track Width, Front (in) 62.5
LS 460 Track Width, Rear (in) 63.8

CLS Wheelbase (in) 112.4
LS 460 Wheelbase (in) 116.9

CLS Height, Overall (in) 54.7
LS 460 Height, Overall (in) 58.1

CLS Width, Max w/o mirrors (in) 73.7
LS 460 Width, Max w/o mirrors (in) 73.8

The CV3 spoke to me is thick enough to match the mass of the LS. This is not a thin spoke. Now I like the chop b/c if you go with the silver machined/matte black look, it gives the appearance that the spokes are bigger. I'm thinking for the LS you might want to skip matte graphite and go with the machined face or the machined face/matte black combo.

Agreed, the drop finishes the look.

Who's gonna be the first CV3 on the LS?
