Default NAV Software Updated to 11.1

Just received an email that the software can be updated by the dealer for $169.00. I hope this includes installation.

Old one was 199.00 plus install which was about 150, My guess is that that does not include installation.

Can I ask what dealer that is? $169 is a good price for the license key.

Check the linked PDF to see if your new community has been added before shelling out for the upgrade

IMO it's just bollock, Lexus should fire everyone in their Nav/GPS department and just outsource the damn thing to Google Maps by now

Not installed; but not a major issue to do your self. Agree with the above comment; make sure it will benefit you. I actually have a garmin in my GS that provides better service than the Lexus program. just my opinion.

you can't self-install nav updates on these LS's -- the USB dongle you buy doesn't actually have map data on it. you're buying a license key that unlocks the special service tool that actually pushes the map data to your car.

My Android phone is way more useful for GPS than my LS..its receives all the updates automatically and provides more routing options. I do like the XM Navy Traffic feature since they cover major roads that have been around for decades. Other than that, my screen stays on XM Radio info lol

Sure it's a piece of cake with the dealer computer and key USB drive. It's so-called marketing trick.

The upgrade part is $169, but the total cost is $311! According to Lexus it takes so long, that they offer a loaner!

Got it today installed by the dealer - total waste of $326! The new intersection next door built over a year ago is still not on the map.
