How to prepare winter snowy weather with your LS460
Hi Lexus Lovers,
I am new to Lexus and new to the rear wheel drive vehicle.
Do you have any suggestions about how to survive heavy snowy winter season with LS460? I am living in Chicago, IL
Please advise. I want to prepare accordingly. Thank you all.

Ditto what Edarte said.
If you do buy snow tires, I'd recommend you find a set of wheels to mount them on. It makes the change over each season much easier, and it protects your regular wheels from road salt. Check our classifieds, or other sites for a set of wheels. There are lots of OEM wheels available out there from guys who upgrade their wheels.
And, welcome to the Club, don't be a stranger!

If you're in the city or the near 'burbs , and don't need to drive to/thru more rural areas of the state or Indiana, you can get by with GOOD m+s rated all-seasons; the roads are plowed quickly unless it's snowing so badly that nobody should be on the roads ... don't overlook the 'snow' setting for traction control - it works ..We don't have a lot of hills in the area .. If you're in the far burbs , or in NW Indiana , Blizzaks on a separate set of wheels for the winter are the best way to go .. And, if you don't already have them , Weathertech floor mats are advisable ... keeps vibram boot pee off the carpet

Wow... Very helpful to prepare the winter snowy days. I better start shopping the wheels/rims with winter tires :-(
I used to live in southern CA for 6 years and moved up to Chicago last Summer. I miss the southern CA weather so much :-)

Don't forget some rubber winter floor mats to catch the junk that comes off your shoes. Since Lexus stopped selling the winter mats for the LS430 and there were not good aftermarket ones for my car, I opted to use the OEM factory mats for winter and bought nice mats for summer. Also buy a medium / long handled snow brush with an ice scraper on the other end.

Excellent point about the snow brush /ice scraper ..get a sturdy, long one that combines a large brush and a nice wide scraper ..don't skimp here or try to survive with the tiny cheap plastic scrapers ..our winters laugh at them, and will devour them..you will thank yourself for spending a little on this device ..trust me ..
