Oil Change-Reset Reminder Light
Veh. 2007 LS460L current mileage:46000
It's a CPO, 1st oil change was complimentary, 2nd was included in the spring valve recall, all done by Lexus service. It's time for my annual oil change. I'm getting a "time to change oil soon" light when car is started and it's goes through the "car check" sequence. I disable the maintenance reminder on the LCD screen. Living in NYC it will cost $525.00 for a oil change and the extra perk of a free car wash. I know I could also have it done at a Toyota service department for much less. Questions: If it's done by a trusted local service mechanic will the reminder light go off after the oil change? Or is it something that Lexus has a monopoly computer program that resets the reminder? I'll be darn to spend $525 in today economy (I'm part of the 99%) for them to check my tire pressure and a car wash.

You can easily disable it yourself.
Step 1 - Switch the display to the trip A when the engine is running.
Step 2 - Turn the engine switch OFF.
Step 3 - While pressing the trip meter reset button, set the engine switch to the IG-ON mode (but do not start the engine because otherwise the reset mode will be cancelled). Press and hold the button until the multi-information display indicates that the reset is complete.

Will this also reset the trip "A" ODO miles? I've been using "A" to keep track how many miles I have put on the vehicle since its purchase. I use "B" when I go on trips. Sorry, to be a pain. If it resets it's no big deal just wanted to know ahead of time.
Thanks
