What "kills" most Kewl wheel choices when considering them for our beloved LS460's is the unusual LS460' "5 x 120" bolt pattern.
This information came from two of America's premier wheel merchants.

BMW, range rover, rolls royce, etc. are all 5x120 -- that bolt pattern is by no means unusual :P. we can also run wheels off of certain camaro/corvettes (as well as other related GM products) too. the bolt pattern isn't really an issue (you can have the wheels sleeved and redrilled for maybe $15-25/wheel), it's the other specs -- offset, width, and diameter are more important in figuring out whether the wheels will fit or not.

There are a plethora of wheel choices that exist for our cars, you just need to find one that suits you.

those wheels will not fit on the LS460 without fender modification.
I actually find that statement to be entirely misleading. BMW wheels are all 5x120 and I've never heard a complaint about their wheel selection. As far as our classifieds section goes, sure, you'll have a harder time finding wheels there, but even the new Acura TL comes with a 5x120 bolt pattern.

It was not my intention whatsoever.

no, the hub ring is only to make the wheel hubcentric again, not a magic cure all for wheel fitment. because of the aggressive offsets and widths that BMW runs on their X5/6 and 7-series, you probably WON'T be able to run those wheels UNLESS you're willing to do some fender modification (not cheap -- i'm talking about more than a simple roll) OR camber work (which is kind of a unicorn except for in japan and even more expensive than quality fender work).
synopsis: just because the wheel has the same lug pattern (5x120) as our cars doesn't mean the wheels will work (you have to take into consideration width, offset and tire selection also or be willing to do more serious modification to your LS)
